When you really get to the heart of the matter, moms play a vital role in promoting healthy lifestyles for their spouse and children. “Heart of a Woman: Raising a Heart Healthy Family” explores easy ways to include the whole family in taking charge of their heart’s health.
Heart of a Woman is this Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 6-8 p.m. at the Women’s Health Center, 5320 Elliott Drive, Ypsilanti (on the campus of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital).
Cardiologist Barbara Kong, MD, will point out the importance of starting early to promote heart healthy lifestyles. Breakout sessions will include how to shop and cook healthy recipes, including a cooking demo with fresh produce from the Farm at St. Joe’s.
The cost is Zero and there will be light refreshments and door prizes!
